Applying for membership is done online

To apply for membership, firstly consult the Handbook 2018-2019 (1), to find out what category you are applying for and then follow the instructions below to apply

Members Sign Up Help.  Payment can also be made at time of application via the Gateway Payment.   All new members are to produce a birth certificate to verify the age of your nippers.  Please note that as from the 30th September it will be down to the member to have a Proficiency sheet POOL ONLY signed off by an accredited swim coach.  This is then to be brought with you to the club when you first attend.


Nippers

2018-2019 Season starts Sunday September 16 

Nippers is a fun, educational and healthy summer activity for all the family.

We have a nipper program that is run every Sunday morning from 8:30am during the months of September through to March. Nippers is for kids aged between 5 and 13 years of age who want to improve their beach skills, make new friends and have Fun!

We have a nipper program that is run every Sunday morning from 8:30am during the months of September through to March. Nippers is for kids aged between 5 and 13 years of age who want to improve their beach skills, make new friends and have Fun!  The minimum age for Nippers is 5 years old and they must be this age as of September 30, 2018.  We also have a cadet program for the older teenagers.

Families often stay to enjoy a BBQ at the end of the morning.

Our Nippers program consists of fun beach and water activities.  To participate in water activities nippers must first complete a proficiency swim (details below) which takes place in a swimming pool followed by a ocean swim/wade at Suttons Beach.

Our sign on days will be on the below dates.  Please be sure you have followed in instructions in our Welcome Letter to make this a smooth process.

Patrolling Members 

2018-2019 Season starts Saturday September 22 

Patrolling Members of 9 Patrols who volunteer their time to Patrol Suttons Beach from generally September to April/May . They can be trained in all aspects such as Bronze Medallion, Advanced First Aid, Spinal Management, Rescue Boat Crewie & Driver, Beach Management and more. They are rostered on once every 3 weeks but can join any Patrol they wish. A number of our members when not rostered onto Patrol also participate in Water Safety for our young Nippers.

We have club members patrolling Suttons Beach on the weekends and public holidays during the months of September through to May.

Senior Proficiencies

Patrol Member Proficiency Sessions

Proficiency sessions for PCs/Vice PCs will be run on 16 September 13:00-15:00.

IRB Driver and Crew member proficiencies – 11:30am on 16 September 2018.

If you are unable to attend the  IRB Driver and Crewie proficiencies we  will endevour to run more  during Sunday patrols commencing the 2nd patrol rotation.

With apologies to those on Saturday patrols, you are kindly asked to join a Sunday session to complete the assessment. Although an assessment date and time is listed against your patrols you can take advantage of any of the Sunday sessions that is most convenient during the 2nd rotation.

New and transferring members are also welcome to join a session that is most convenient during the 2nd rotation.

Stingray Nippers sadly will not take place in 2018

Stingray Nippers is a unique nipper program structured for children with specific needs. Run over a five week period each season, the program is focused on giving basic Surf Lifesaving education through games and activities on Suttons Beach.
An amazing experience for participants and volunteers alike!
