Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life
Saving Club commenced in September 1991. The clubhouse
is situated on the northern end of Suttons Beach and has
a magnificent view of Moreton Island and Moreton Bay.
It is the most southern club in the Sunshine Coast
Branch, and at 50km north of Brisbane, is the closest
Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) to the city. The Redcliffe
Peninsula clubhouse is accessible via the Houton Highway
from the south and Anzac Avenue from the west.
Redcliffe Peninsula SLSC is a very family orientated
club and we encourage people from all age groups to join
our club, as one is never too young or too mature to
learn about beach safety.
We have a nipper program that is run every Sunday
morning from 8:30am during the months of September
through to March. Nippers are aged between 6 and 13
years of age and there is a cadet program for the older
teenagers. Families often stay to enjoy fellowship over
a BBQ at the end of the morning.
We have club members patrolling Suttons Beach on the
weekends and public holidays during the months of August
through to May. To become a patrolling member and have
the privilege and responsibility of ensuring the safety
of the beach, you need to be 15 years of age or older
and hold at least one award. There are a number of
different awards available to obtain, each providing you
with an opportunity to learn different skills to be a
part of preventative action and saving lives. |
